NETZ PPA also offers technical entry-level training for refugees and technical internships for school students. In total, up to 300 trainees and interns can be trained. The new building for training and education offers a variety of different uses: Training rooms for groups of 15 to 100 people, classrooms, locker rooms for 300 people, rooms for the works council and occupational medicine. There are also rooms for catering, workshops, an administrative area, and a break area.

The building also accommodates up to 300 participants in training courses. Certain training and education units can also be held outdoors. Next to the building, there are training sessions on the overhead line pylon (e.g. rescue exercises) and a pipe trench for emergency exercises for gas accidents. The new construction of the training center in Esslingen arose from the necessity of a
relocation of the site. The EnBW site in Esslingen shows a variety of different construction phases and buildings.

Our objective was to plan a functional and flexible building. The changing technological needs of the various training courses can thus be optimally implemented with little effort. The building follows the building boundary on the street side, and is thus very efficiently placed on the site.

The east-west orientation, allows generous glazing proportions on the south side. The glazing portions offer generous lighting and ventilation of the large training areas and at the same time the view of the attractive scenery of the Neckar.

The four-story reinforced concrete structure is clad with insulated steel cassettes and back-ventilated gold-colored aluminum panels (Planum 27 in Sandgold). The anthracite-colored pilaster strips and window reveals form an exciting contrast to this and highlight the varied modulation of the facade.
