Product: Planum facade, 1669 m2, carbon look
The aim of the design was to create a modern and dynamic building that would be individual and special to the company, would use high-quality materials and would be specially adapted to the wishes of the users.
The building is a striking square body that presents itself from the outside as closed and introverted. In order not to make this closed shell appear difficult, the upper floor is lifted off from the massive exposed concrete plinth by a dark curtain wall. The surrounding skylight strip above the base zone lends the building shell additional lightness. The only opening in the building is provided by the designers in the entrance situation. The dark façade shell is literally inverted and opens into a massive entrance ramp. An additional special feature of the entrance area is a reflective metal ceiling.
The large entrance situation inside the building transforms the building, which at first glance appears closed, into a very spacious, bright and open spatial experience. Interior and exterior spaces flow into each other. The office – arranged on the upper floor, the production and workshop – arranged on the lower floor – are arranged in the building in such a way that they are interconnected and can be combined with each other. Due to the spatial structure, however, they remain independent.
With four purposefully set inner courtyards, which are coloured according to the four seasons, all rooms of the building are flooded with daylight. The inner courtyards themselves offer terrace surfaces.
The workplaces are planned in open-plan structures which can, however, be split into individual offices. The offices have been developed individually for Steinbauer: The choice of materials, colours and textures corresponds to the company colours: white, red, black.
The building is designed in a reinforced concrete skeleton construction and infilled with a prefabricated construction. The base area is made of sandblasted exposed concrete, above which the surrounding skylight strip is arranged. Subsequently, the upper floor with a curtain-type cassette façade in DOMICO Planum stands out from the plinth zone. The entrance area is also made of fair-faced concrete, above which the curtain wall cantilevers out by means of the generously dimensioned steel girders. The ceilings are hollow plank or trapezoidal sheet metal ceilings.
The façade of the upper floor was made of DOMICO products. Due to the client’s requirement to build an individual and striking building, a façade surface was developed especially for the building project. Accordingly, the surface, the graphic design, the colouring and the 3D finish are specially produced. The colour of the facade element is carbon look, which is based on the product and packaging of Steinbauer. In the meantime, the facade element in the Planum series has been included in the standard DOMICO range as “Carbon”.
